Abstract

Two new dioxovanadium(V) complexes [V2O2(L)(OEt)2] have been synthesizes by the reaction of new binuclear hexadentate diacylhydrazone ligands. All the synthesized binuclear ligands and the corresponding metal complexes were successfully characterized by IR, UV- Vis, NMR spectroscopy and C, H, N analysis. The analytical data reveal that the V(V) complexes possess 2:1 metal–ligand ratios. Infrared spectral data suggest that the hydrazone Schiff base behaves as a hexadentate ligand with ONO ONO donor sequence towards the metal ions. The synthesized complexes are recrystallized from DMSO.
