Tellurium containing diphosphine bridged triiron homonuclear metal cluster were prepared from the reaction of [Fe3Te2(CO)9] with dppe ( bis-diphenylphosphino ethane) and [Fe3Te2(CO)8(PPh3)] with dppe under facile reaction condition. Characterization of the synthesized metal clusters was carried out using FTIR spectroscopy. Structural characterization of one of the metal cluster was done by single crystal X-ray diffraction studies. The results shows that the reactivity of tellurium containing metal clusters compounds are unique compared to the other congeners of chalcogen group.
