Abstract
Thiosemicarbazones (TSCs) have received significant attention due to their eventual therapeutic activities against bacterial and viral infections, tuberculosis and leprosy. There are several reasons for interest in the coordination chemistry of thiosemicarbazones. In particular, metal derivatives of thiosemicarbazones often display better pharmacological properties than the thiosemicarbazones themselves; and as a class, metal-thiosemicarbazone complexes exhibit a great variety of coordination modes and structures.
The present report deals with the chemistry of some new Cu(I) complexes of4-(p-X-phenyl) thiosemicarbazone of naphthaldehyde , with particular reference to their synthesis and characterization.
