Abstract
Multiferroic means the co-existence of two or more ferroic order property, such as
ferroelectricity, ferromagnetism and/or ferroelasticity. Most of the mutiferroic
materials have very low transition temperature but Bi2Fe4O9 have transition
temperature which is near to the room temperature. Bi2Fe4O9 is a type II multiferroic,
so it has very strong magnetoelectric coupling. Bi2Fe4O9 has a pentagonal symmetric
structure. Bi2Fe4O9 was sintered at 850oC for 12 hours. Then characterizations were
done to study different structural, dielectric and optical properties of Bi2Fe4O9.
