Abstract

The goal of this project is to develop a digital multimeter using Motorola HCS12 microcontroller. This multimeter consists of a number of small modules such as a signal conditioning module for various types of input signal, an analog to digital converter (ADC) for signal conversion and a display. The signal conditioning circuit is made up of analog components whose parameters can be changed to measure across a large range. The signal is then passed to an ADC of the microcontroller. The microcontroller is programmed to analyse the values and display the result using a display device like LCD display.
