Abstract

The whole world is facing water scarcity and it is most burning issue as far as sustainable environment is concern in this project soil parameters such as moisture, temperature and humidity are measured with the help of hygrometer sensor and DHT22 respectively. Sensor data wirelessly transmitted from end device/router device to coordinator device, in this way a long farm field can be irrigated remotely as this project is also related to iot the sensor data is send to a web page and to local database with the help of Zigbee and arduino. To do this project first moisture sensor which is giving ADC value instead of moisture percentage validity and comparison of soil moisture sensor is done through iteration method by putting sample in oven .It was observed that for high moisture content the value of sensor output is low and for dry soil the value is high .in this manner some threshold value is set at which motor will start irrigating the farm field .This provides a great relief to farmers as far as their crop production is taken in to consideration because over irrigation allows the salt to come on the surface of farm field which degraded the quality of soil leads to poor production of particular crops .
