Abstract

This thesis presents execution of user friendly and cost effective home automation system with remote control of home appliances. This model is developed to help the handicapped and elder persons at home in addition to that; home automation can also be used to improve the living status of human being. The primary control system uses a GSM Module which gives a remote access to mobile phones. In order to control appliances, status of the home appliances and surrounding environment are required. The main focus of our work is to control home appliances in real time through GSM service based on sensor output. Based on this whole system is developed. Signals from sensors and status of the devices are provided to ATmega328 microcontroller. Further, using logics and processing the input signal, control signal are sent to control the home appliances through relay. On the other hand, Arduino codes are developed in its IDE (Integrated Development Environment) platform. The system is made to control electrical appliances of the house with ease of use and installation.
