Abstract

Nowadays mobile communication has become an important need in day to day life, the world without it is unimaginable as the no of subscribers are increasing rapidly there should be efficient techniques to reduce the spectrum usage. One of the important research field in this area is deploying the efficient location management techniques for future communication systems. In this thesis, we discussed existing location management techniques and performance analysis of LTE TAL based location management techniques has been discussed.
In 2G and 3G communication systems, LA based location management techniques have been deployed.Instead of deploying La by taking into consideration of user data statistics such as user movements and the number of call arrivals we can use Reporting cell-based location update scheme for efficient spectrum utilization.Finding the optimal Reporting cell configuration is a challenging task, therefore, we use soft computing for finding the optimum RCC.In LTE location management is different from the existing techniques in 2G and 3G, which consists of Tracking areas(TAs) and Tracking area lists(TALs).The performance analysis of LTE location management technique with three different paging schemes has been analyzed in this thesis.
The novelty of this work is that we use novel hybridization techniques for report cell planning which gives better optimum solution than the existing techniques. WE Proposed a novel hybridization technique by combining GA and BPSO for optimal RCC such that cost per call arrival decreases Which in turn reduces the overall location management cost.
