Abstract

The dynamic behavior of the beam carrying moving loads or moving masses have large advantages and very important for the design of railway tracks as well as bridges and machining processes. Moving mass or moving load analysis have been large applications in various fields like transportation, rails, roadways, bridges, guide ways, overhead cranes, cableways, tunnels and pipelines, and runways. To support the moving loads or moving masses, structural elements has been designed. Present study gives an analytical-numerical method for the dynamic response of the beams for different boundary conditions carrying two moving masses at constant speed. In the present study Euler-Bernoulli beam is considered the inertia effects of moving masses are also taken into account. Purpose of this study is to form and transform the governing equation to the simple and solvable ordinary differential equation. The solutions of the assigned problem are evaluated for the case of simply supported and cantilever beams. Results are obtained by using the software ANSYS Workbench.
