Abstract

The present study deals with the buckling analysis and vibration behavior of the nanocomposite spherical shell structure reinforced with the carbon nanotubes. The properties of material of single walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) shell structure are obtained by Mori-Tanaka approach. In this research, nanocomposite is assumed to form by mixing polymer as a matrix and SWCNTs as reinforced phase and made an advanced quality of nanocomposite material in nanoscale level. This work is carried out in ANSYS (APDL). An eight node shell element (SHELL281) has been used for the discretization for the developed model in ANSYS (APDL). In this study, the non-dimensional central deflection, fundamental frequency and buckling behavior of nanocomposite shell structure are obtained by variation of different factors as volume fraction of CNTs, boundary conditions and thickness ratio.
