Abstract

In this work, uncertainty in material properties of the laminated composite plate such as young’s modulus, shear modulus, and Poisson's ratios are modeled using fuzzy approach. A fuzzy-based finite element model is developed for the analysis of laminated composite plate involving fuzziness in the material properties. The mathematical model is developed using fuzzy arithmetic based on the higher-order shear deformation theory. Based on the proposed and developed model the vibration and bending responses of the laminated composite plate are being analyzed taking uncertainty in material properties. Applicability and feasibility of the methodology incorporated are presented with some numerical examples.
