Abstract

The main function of the programmable DC power supply unit is to provide a regulated power without any distortion & ripples. All input output data are shown in the display board with keypad entry. This is fully microcontroller programmable based power supply. The power supply unit is a closed loop control system which is designed using a buck converter, ATMEGA328 microcontroller is used which gives control signal to the unit to accomplish the programmable voltage at output terminal. Control board with keypad and alphanumeric character, Liquid crystal device(LCD) is a component of controller which gives user interface to feed the control signal(I/P) and to show the output values. The proposed model has double O/P DC power supply with voltage ranges from 0V to + 30V and current 3A. Short circuit current limiter, temperature protection circuit, over voltage/over current protection circuit and alarm circuit is used in this model. The model has been effectively developed and hardware confirmation utilizing ATMEGA328 micro controller has appeared that the Model is functioning as expected and successfully with attractive results.
