Abstract
The flexible Liquid helium (LHe) transfer line is to transfer liquid helium. This is used in cryogenic test facility for transfer of liquid helium from Dewar to the different experimental requirements It should be flexible to adopt to different relative positions between Dewar and applications.. There are different concepts of reducing external heat loads to the LHe transfer line. In this project work, to reduce heat leaks, it is planned to use vacuum and multilayer insulations (MLI).In this project work design of helium transfer line dimension is done on the basis of two phase pressure drop equations, bellow design is done on the basis of EJMA standard as bellow is used to avoid contraction, amount of heat in leak after MLI wrapping is also calculated. The transfer line have two vertical rigid legs at two ends to fix into the system. Stress analysis of bellow, vertical pipe with small bellow etc is done in ANSYS. Two phase transient analysis of the liquid Helium transfer line for 1 sec based on the designed dimensions is also done in ANSYS.
