Abstract

An attempt is made to study the dynamics of entrainment phenomenon using rotary motion through 3D numerical simulation. Effort is made to study the rate of entrainment of one fluid into the other fluid by varying different key parameters like rotor diameter, rotor speed, and number of the rotors used, density and viscosity of the secondary fluid. Water-kerosene fluid pair is considered for the present analysis. Through thorough numerical simulations, variation of rate of entrainment in terms of chute height and volume fraction (VF) entrained with the above-mentioned key parameters is extracted.
