Abstract
Cryogenic turboexpander plays an important role in the production of low temperature refrigeration of cryogenic plant. The integral parts of a cryogenic turboexpander are expansion turbine, compressor and heat exchanger etc. The part where the refrigeration produced is the expansion turbine. Turboexpanders are nothing but the expansion turbines, rotary machines same as steam turbines. Generally, the terms "expansion turbines" and "turboexpanders" precisely eliminate steam turbines and combustion gas turbines. This project deals with the design of the radial flow turbine and find out its coordinates for fabrication purposes. The design has been done with the ansys Bladegen. The profile has been created by using vista RTD of ansys packages and ansys Bladegen .The coordinates at different spans of the blade profile. The mean surface coordinates are produced with the help of MATLAB programming. Various graphs have been plotted and contours have been produced from the bladegen. The input data has been taken from the Ghosh thesis and the output data has been validated with the output data of the Ghosh thesis, which had been calculated by using the Hasselgruber’s equations.
