Abstract
Composite materials are using extensively now a days because of its high specific stiffness and strength. Researches are going in automobile sector for application of such type of material. In the present work, a multi leaf spring made by seven unidirectional laminated composite leafs used in rear suspension is modelled and analysed using ANSYS 15.0 software. A comparative study is carried out between multi leaf steel spring and multi leaf composite spring made up of E-glass epoxy. The value of stiffness, static deflection and natural frequency of composite leaf spring are compared with steel leaf spring. Convergence, static, free vibration and transient analysis is also carried out to study the slip in the interfaces of the leaf in order to determine the slip damping of the laminated composite leaf spring.
