Abstract

The DESPL construction industry is normally subjected to an exceptionally broad range of risk and uncertainty. Construction of a building right from inception to commissioning involves great number of people with vastly different skills & specializations. An environment health and safety (EHS) management plan is a documented health and safety plan for a specific construction workplace. Safety measures act as fundamental weapons implicated into construction industries for labours working at height from the ground surface. These measures act as bread and butter for every physical working labour whose work deals with high amount of risk in construction industries. Whenever the height is 2 meters or more, it constitutes a working a height. Since gravity is involved, a fall from 2 meter height can be fatal. The person can be injured by falling himself or getting hit by a falling object. So both the cases constitute working at height. So safety precautions to must be given basic priority during working of a labour at height. The safety management plan that was developed beforehand was implemented to the workmen at DESPL with frequent trainings and display of basic safety equipment’s that are to be employed by them in further proceedings of their work . A good response as expected from the plan was seen at the site as workers were aware of their safety measures while working at such risky sites.
