Abstract

Numerical simulation of chilldown in LN2 transfer line is made by using the volume of fraction (VOF) method with evaporation condensation model. The results from numerical simulation is obtained by discretizing the continuity, momentum, energy and turbulent equations. The effect of different Reynolds number and temperature at the inlet of the pipe are studied during the numerical simulation. The numerically obtained results are shown in term of various plots and contours of pressure, velocity, temperature and phase fraction fluctuation at different section with respect to time.
