Abstract
The Non-renewable energy resources like coal, diesel are reducing day-to-day, the use of renewable energy resources like solar, wind, tidal, etc., became wide. This project is based on utilization of the renewable energy resource called solar energy. For continuous harnessing the maximum power from PV system for change in temperature and irradiance makes the goal for MPPT.For the MPPT algorithms we require the PV voltage and current information, but in this project we proposed a current Sensor-less (SC)MPPT algorithm using first-order estimator. For elimination of switching non-linearity in the system an adaptive ramp technique is used. The proposed SC-MPPT with adaptive ramp technique quite accurately tracks the maximum power point for wide variations in temperature and irradiation. This eliminates the high cost devices for sensing current. The proposed control technique is simulated using MATLAB and experimental validation is carried by using analog and digital domains. For implementation of MPPT algorithm and estimator Arduino AT MEGA 2560 is used.
