Abstract
In this research work vibration analysis of a viscoelastic sandwich beam has been studied. A finite element model has been developed for the three layer viscoelastic sandwich beam. The sandwich beam is modeled using linear displacement field at face layer and non-linear displacement field at core layer. The equation of motion for the viscoelastic sandwich beam is derived by using the Hamilton’s principle. Different specimens have been modeled by varying the core layers and face layers and studied under the fixed-fixed and cantilever boundary conditions for modal analysis. The Natural frequencies are obtained for various models using different core thickness and boundary conditions. The results obtained are compared with the earlier existing and experimental results.
